Wales: The Gower

For someone with a little less of a budget or someone who wishes to check out the welsh coast from warmer destinations around the world. The Gower is somewhat of a haven to all. Immense surfing with coves upon coves which were previous used for smugglers many moons ago which have secluded spots within each of them.
Places to stay are pretty much limited to camping or the B&B’s, but to get a real feel camping is the ideal way. The top campsite which we found is Hillend Campsite, based just behind the dunes and about 2 minutes walk from the surf and a beach which stretches for miles. Llangennith is placed between rolling hills, making the ideal walking environment with beautiful sunsets looking over the coast. Hillend as I said is beautiful in a perfect location and has all the amenities on the site; fancy hot showers, tidy loo’s, electric hook-ups and a shop on site (Tip: Shop off site to enable you to bring a large stash of BBQ food and beerios so you don’t break the budget).
The site consists of three fields the second is for general campers, families and others. The third field is family only, and the first is the busiest but in most ideal location for loo’s ect. If you are a van fan, then this field is the one for you, we met an awesome crowd of Vdubs down there and will always return with ours to field one, as it seems to be the place to be and has a reel family feel having barbies and all.
After your barbie head down to the beach for a sunset surf or hang out with peeps around a fire with a few marshmallows.
Swansea isn’t too far away, which is a university town with the closest university to the beach in the world! Swansea is awesome for all, cafes, bars ect and loads of places to eat.
If larger towns aren’t for you head along the north coast of the Gower and you will find all the little local towns with your little local pubs.
Weather wise.... It’s Wales. With Wales seems to come rain but if you catch the right week then you could be anywhere.
The wildlife is awesome too, shared the back line with seals a few times also turtles, whale sharks have been spotted.

Nothing beats it for me in the UK, that’s why we are moving there in 2 months.

Have fun and let me know what you think J
